The most important thing to know is that real happiness is being able to get up in the morning and no matter what is going on in your life, you are okay with yourself. You are actually fine and can honestly say you’re happy. Although, circumstances may not be perfect (everyone’s situations are different), but you’re okay. You’re not sad, hate or dispise yourself. You aren’t thinking about harming yourself or others. That is real.
True happiness, I believe is when everything is just fine. You have a great job, finances are in order, you’re strong on your own or sharing your life with someone that helps you feel safe and calm. It’s when you have truly surpassed the hurdles and boundaries holding you back from accomplishing your goals. You finally reached the end of the journey and are settling in the fruits of your labor.
It is truly important to recognize when you are happy and acknowledge what brings forth the happiness you’re feeling. Are you doing something new? Working out, met someone new (friend/partner), new hobby and so forth. If you can find something that brings genuine motivation, build on it.
I honestly couldn’t imagine seeing the light at the end of the tunnel seven months ago. A few days ago I realized, I can finally see it. Now, I’m real enough to know is not within reach, but it honestly brings tears to my eyes to know I can finally say, I can see it. Who knows, maybe, that is why I’m finally starting to feel some real happiness.
